First it was B.o.B. rapping on a Delta Airlines flight. Now you can add baggage handlers getting trapped in the cargo bay to the list of odd airline news from this past week.
CNN reports that a US Airways baggage handler crawled in the the cargo area of a US Airways flight, being operated as a Republic Airlines flight, before another baggage handler unknowingly closed the door on his colleague.
The handler was released after passengers and the pilot heard banging and shouting coming from underneath the plane. That, and the fact that the trapped handler was suppose to push the plane back from the gate, caused his co-workers to begin searching for the missing worker.
The baggage handler was unharmed and the flight eventually departed for Hartford, Conn.
No word on whether there was there was a baggage fee imposed on the temporary stowaway.
