787 Passes 1,000th Flight Milestone

Boeing announced today that the 787 has completed 1,000 test flights with nearly 3,000 hours of flight time and more than a million total miles flown.

Boeing’s 787 test fleet includes seven aircraft which have flown all around the world in order to be exposed to various test conditions.

Testing began in December 2009 with the 787’s maiden voyage and according to Boeing, the Rolls Royce powered version has completed 80 percent of the necessary tests to become FAA certified and the GE powered version has completed 60 percent.

Boeing expects to deliver the first 787 to launch customer All Nippon Airways by the end of the third quarter.
