According to Airlines and Destinations, Air France will begin using the super-jumbo Airbus A380 on routes between Paris and Washington Dulles International Airport starting on June 6. Air France will be the first airline to operate the A380 at Dulles.
Washington will be Air France’s fifth A380 destination from Paris, It currently serves New York JFK, Tokyo and Johannesburg, and will be starting A380 service to Montreal on April 22. The carrier currently operates four Airbus A380s and is taking delivery of two more for the new Washington and Montreal flights.
Due to the A380’s increased size, Air France will drop seven flights a week to Dulles so that capacity will remain largely unaffected as the larger planes will be able to transport more passengers but the flight frequency will be decreased to compensate.
Air France will offer a four-class configuration with a capacity of 516 passengers according to the article.
