Airbus picks up 100 orders, Boeing Nabs 33 More

It’s been a busy 24 hours for Boeing and Airbus with both companies landing substantial orders including an announced order today from International Lease Finance Corp that includes 100 Airbus A320neos and A321neos and 33  Boeing 737-800s Reuters reports.

The Airbus order calls for 75 A320neos and 25 A321neos  which will replace a previous order for 10 A380s. For airbus, the order propels the company out of near-negative orders territory for the year and puts the European plane maker on pace for securing potentially hundreds more A320neo orders by the Paris Air Show in June.

ILFC expects to receive the 737s beginning next year with the A320/A321 orders set to be delivered starting in 2016.
