NTSB Investigating A380 and Regional Jet Collision at JFK

On Monday night, an Airbus A380 scheduled to fly to Paris clipped a Delta regional jet operated by Comair that was waiting to pull up to the gate with passengers onboard.

Nobody was hurt during the incident but the video of the collision and the subsequent photos released by the NTSB today have gained significant attention.

USA Today’s Today in the Sky blogger Ben Mutzabaugh has posted all three of the photos which show some wing damage to the A380 along with damage to the Comair plane’s tail.

In the video (below) you can see just how forceful the wing strike was with the A380 turning the Comair jet nearly 45 degrees while the Air France plane seems unfazed (aside from the damage to the wing, the plane barely moves as it passes by)
